This Mexican-styled two-bedroom, penthouse sleeps four persons. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a private bathroom and the second bedroom has two twin-size beds and access to a private bathroom, conveniently located downtown Playa Del Carmen steps away from the beach and shopping.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessary appliances such as a refrigerator, stove with oven, utensils, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and drinkable water. The dining area has seating for four persons. There are a 26” TV and DVD/CD player in the living room and another 20” plasma TV in the master bedroom.
The private rooftop terrace is complete with a Jacuzzi, outdoor dining area with room for six people, lounge chairs, gas/charcoal grill, and outdoor shower & bathroom.
This penthouse is located within Playa Kaan - a gated development with 24/7 security on-site as well as a swimming pool, tropical garden area, waterfall, and sun deck. Playa Kaan is located right in the heart of Playa del Carmen, only 3 ½ blocks from the beach and 1 ½ blocks from the famous 5th Avenue with all the shops, restaurants and nightlife. It’s the perfect location for visitors who prefer to have everything Playa del Carmen has to offer at a short walking distance.

This was our third time staying at PK33 (Casa Dorothea) ... we love it, It is a central location to 5th Av and the beach. The condo is wonderfully furnished and has everything you need. Just bring your toothbrush !! We especially liked the private rooftop terrace. Great views and provides a fully furnished outdoor living experience ... bar, kitchen, couch, table chairs loungers, Jacuzzi and even a shower and toilet.

In February, we returned for our third visit to Casa Dorothea. We stayed for the entire month and it was, once again, a memorable vacation. The condo is centrally located, very comfortable and well-managed by ViMex. The owners, Ron and Crystal, are wonderful hosts. The condo is well-designed and furnished and the roof-top deck with its view, soaking pool, outdoor kitchen, bathroom and shower is icing on the cake. The deck is a great place to work on your tan in privacy. Casa Dorothea is 4 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from Playa's Quinta avenida (5th avenue) with many shops, restaurants and bars. It is a great place for shopping and people-watching. For those wanting to experience more of the local flavor of the town and to do their own cooking, the condo is only a few blocks from Mega grocery store, DaC (excellent local produce and meats), and our new favorite place, Sapore de Casa, a great Italian deli. We love to experiment with Mexican cuisine and the kitchen in Casa Dorothea got a fair amount of use. Last year when we visited Playa we saw Jacques Pepin, the world-renowned chef, in Mega one Sunday. This year, we met him coming home from breakfast and talked to him. Truly a treat for us! Playa is a great town for walking whether on Quinta avenida or in the more central parts of town and is very safe. The condo is a block away from the "uptown" bus station and taxis are ubiquitous and fairly priced. You won't need a car to enjoy Playa. Playa is central to some great beaches, snorkeling areas, and interesting Mayan archaeological sites and most are easy to get to by bus or taxi. It's great having Casa Dorothea to come home to at the end of the day after enjoying all that this area has to offer. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful time! PK33 proved to be an excellent home base. Overall it's just a really nice place and the complex is well kept and extremely convenient. A couple of PK33 amenities that really stood out were: -the showers are great -beds were very comfortable -the AC units worked quickly and effectively and were pretty quiet -loved having the private rooftop terrace space -- it got used every day for early morning reading and breakfast and drinks before dinner at night. In summary, it was a wonderful trip and having such a nice place to come home to was a big part of that.

Casa Dorothea was great, and as it worked out, I had a bedroom and bathroom all to myself -- along with the roof patio, it was a great place to hang out! I appreciated all the information about the town, restaurants, things to do, that you made available in the apartment. Wonderful location, so close to 5th Ave and the beach.
Near by Fun - Playa Del Carmen Downtown
Today Playa del Carmen, or just "Playa" as it is colloquially referred to, is the center of the Riviera Maya concept, which runs south from Puerto Morelos, to Tulum and down to the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve. Playa is a day trip stop for several cruise-lines and one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Mexico with expats from Spain, Italy, France, Argentina, Canada, US and many other countries. Playa has everything you might want.

Upon arrival at the condo and during check-in, a picture of the electricity meter will be taken and upon departure, at check-out, another picture will be taken to verify the consumption during the stay. The guests will then pay accordingly for the usage.
For long-term stays (28 nights or more) guests will be charged an extra fee of $30 usd per week for mandatory mid-week cleanings. This will be scheduled with the guests during their stay.
For short-term reservations (up to 3 weeks) electricity usage is included in your rental but limited to a certain amount of Kw per day after which additional charges will apply. To know the number of Kw included for your stay, please contact us.

We are happy to assist you with other arrangements for a worry-free vacation, such as airport transfers, housekeeping, tour information and booking, car rental, plus many more services. All of these services can be booked prior to your arrival. We are here to help you relax during your vacation.
We provide a few essentials to make you feel more at home when you arrive: drinking water, soap, shampoo, and toilet paper. Please note that these will not be refilled during your stay- if you would like to arrange grocery delivery, just let us know!
Deposits: We ask for a 50% of the rental price to reserve your rental unit, then the other 50% should be paid one month prior to your arrival. If you are arriving in less than 30 days at the time of booking, we require the full payment of the rental unit price.
Security deposit: You will be asked for a security deposit upon your arrival which may be handled in cash (USD or MXN)
Cancellations and refunds: If canceled 60 days prior to arrival, you will get a 100% refund (minus the $125 USD handling fee). If canceled 30 days prior to arrival, you get a 50% refund (minus the $125 USD handling fee). No refunds will be given for cancellations within 30 days of arrival.
Other: Smoking is not allowed inside any of the rental properties. Please take the time to read the complete rental agreement and contact us if you have additional questions.
